On the occasion of the 277 anniversary of Tajikistan Independence Day, which is celebrated on September 9, President Emomali Rahmon, who is also the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of Tajikistan, has conferred a title of general on a number of officers  of the country’s power-wielding bloc.

By president’s decrees issued on August 29 Izatullo Sharifzoda, the chief of the Main Directorate for Correctional Works at the Ministry of Justice, was given the military rank of Colonel-General,  and the First Deputy Interior Minister Abdurahmon Alamshozoda was given the military rank of Lieutenant-General.  

Besides, Safiallo Azizullozoda, the chief of the Interior Ministry’s office for Rasht region, Sherkhon Murodzoda, the chief of the Interior Ministry transportation enterprise and Akbar Nasimzoda, the chef of the Interior Ministry traffic police directorate were given the military rank of Major-General.

Two deputy heads of the Drug Control Agency under the President of Tajikistan, Zafar Samad and Murtazo Haidarzoda, were also given the military rank of Major-General.
