Pharmaceutical College built in Yovon under financial support of local entrepreneur

On Thursday September 6, President Emomali Rahmon attended an official opening ceremony of the Pharmaceutical College in the Yovon district of the Khatlon province.

According to the Tajik president’s official website, the construction of the College has been financed by local entrepreneur Akbar Ghulomov.  A total cost of the project is 23 million somoni.

The College’s five-story building houses 60 classes, eight studies for teachers, eight studies for department heads, eight large and small halls, six labs, two libraries and dining-hall.  The College also has winter and summer sports grounds.  The Colleges is designed to accommodate 1440 students.  

Akbar Ghulomov has also financed construction of modern hotel in Yovon.

During the visit, Emomali Rahmon also inaugurated a new secondary school in Yovon.  The school has been built under financial support of local entrepreneur Bahriddin Jourakhonov.  A total cost of the project is 17 million somoni.     

The school that is designed to accommodate 1,500 pupils will provide teaching in two languages – Tajik and Russian.  40 teachers will work with this school, which consists of three modern three-story buildings housing 30 classes, labs, assembly hall, gym, dining-hall, teachers’ common room, etc.
