Tajik President Emomali Rahmon today visited the Yovon district in the Khatlon province to get acquainted with the social and economic situation in the area, according to the Tajik president’s official website. 

In Yovon, Rahmon attended official opening ceremonies of a number of industrial, educational and social facilities. 

The head of state, in particular, inaugurated two workshops operating at the Tajik-Chinese Joint Venture Chzungtsai Mohir Cement.

One of these workshops manufactures iron and reinforced concrete pipes while the other one produces polypropylene sacks.

The daily capacity of the workshop manufacturing iron and reinforced concrete pipes is 72 meters of pipes of different diameters, from 50 to 2,000 millimeters and the daily capacity of the workshop producing polypropylene sacks is 119,000 pieces.

During the visit to Yovon, Emomali Rahmon also got acquainted with the progress of agricultural works in the district, the president’s website said.
