Local radio goes on the air in Kulob

With support from the Government of Tajikistan and the Committee for TV and Radio-broadcasting, Radio Kulob has become the first local radio to go on the air in Kulob.

“The radio went on the air on October 14, and today, it can be picked up in the city of Kulob and some areas of Vose district,” TV Kulob director Safarali Ergashev told Asia-Plus in an interview. 

“In the future, we plan to cover the hole Khatlon province,” Ergashev added. 

Three journalists now work for the radio but they plan to increase the staff next year.  

Besides, Sadoi Dushanbe Radio and Tojikiston Radio operate in the Kulob region.

TV Kulob was established in 1992 as private TV station but it went to balance of the Committee for TV and Radio-broadcasting in 2002.  70 journalists now work for TV Kulob.
