Kazakhstan is expected to provide one more military and technical assistance to Tajikistan.  This issue was reportedly discussed at a meeting of Kazakh high-ranking defense official with Tajik envoy in the Kazakh capital.

Kazakh Deputy Defense Minister, Talgat Janjumenov has met with Tajik Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Nazirmad Alizoda, in Astana, the press center of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Defense (MoD) reported on December 28.

The two reportedly signed a government-to government between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan on providing no-strings military and technical aid to Tajikistan.

The agreement also provides for training of personnel for Tajik national army at Kazakh military schools, according to the press center.

Meanwhile, an official source in the Tajik defense ministry says that in the near future Dushanbe and Astana will begin coordinating the list of military equipment that will be handed over to Tajikistan.

Earlier, Kazakhstan had reportedly donated mine-detectors, chemical reconnaissance equipment, water tanks, stretchers and so forth.
