Specialists for Tajikistan’s cultural sector are expected to be trained in five foreign counties, Tajik Minister of Culture Shamsiddin Orumbekzoda told reporters in Dushanbe on February 8, according to Tajik state-run news agency Khovar.

The minister said that in the framework of the program for training of personnel for culture, art and press designed for 2018-2022, they would be trained in Belarus, China, Italy, Russia and Uzbekistan.

“For example, personnel for circus art will be trained at Moscow State School of Circus and Variety arts (Russia) and Beijing Circus School (China),” the minister said.

Specialists for the Opera and Ballet Theater will be trained at the International Belcanto Academy (Milano, Italy), the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet (St Petersburg, Russia), the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (Moscow), the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory and the N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov Saint Petersburg State Conservatory.

Museum specialists will be trained at the Saint-Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts and the Russian Academy of Arts (Moscow).

Speaking at the news conference, Orumbekzoda said Tajikistan’s concert facilities and theaters last year participated in 246 republican and international events.  In 2018, they reportedly played concerts and performances in China, India, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Uzbekistan.
