Tajik authorities have reportedly provided tax benefits to companies importing raw materials into the country. Deputies of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) have unanimously endorsed amendments proposed by the government to the country’s tax and customs codes.
Presenting a bill to lawmakers, Deputy Finance Minister Karim Gulmurodzoda noted that the amendments provided for exempting raw materials being imported into the country for processing into manufactured goods from payment of value added tax (VAT) and customs duties.
The full list of products that will be exempted from payment of VAT and custom duties will be prepared by the government, Gulmurodzoda noted.
