Tajik Border Troops say that citizens of a neighboring state, contrary to all previous agreements, are building facilities on disputed sections of the border.

«Despite the fact that several protocols were signed between the governments of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to address the issue of border demarcation, the Kyrgyz side, especially some of its aggressively-minded residents, create an artificial problem on the state border», – according to a statement of the press center of the border troops of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan.

According to the information provided by the State Committee for National Security, the instability and every time a negative role is played by some representatives of law enforcement agencies, including border guards of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as officials of the Batken region who systematically deliberately violating the agreements, cause discontent not only of Tajiks, but also of residents of border settlements points of the Kyrgyz side.

The report emphasizes that on August 24, dozens of citizens of the Leilek district on the disputed section of the state border line (opposite the B. Gafurov district of the Republic of Tajikistan), violating all protocol requirements and without coordinating the relevant authorities of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan, deliberately began the construction of two gas stations.
