The next population census will be held in Tajikistan in October next year.
President Emomali Rahmon on September 30 signed a decree on holding the next population and housing census in the country from October 1-15 of 2020. .
The government is ordered to take measures to organize and hold the population and housing census at a high level.
Local authorities of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), provinces, Dushanbe City, cities and districts are ordered to extend their full cooperation to the government in holding the population and housing census.
It will be the tenth population census for Tajikistan.
The previous population and housing census was conducted in the country in October 2010. 27 million somoni were allocated for the 2010 population and housing census and more than 30,000 people, including observers, consultants and others, were involved in conducting the population census. The census of housing was conducted in Tajikistan for the first time.
According to the 2010 census, Tajikistan’s population in 2010 was 7.565 million people, 1.438 million people more than in 2000.
