It cannot be ruled out that the head of state may introduce a number of staff changes during today’s government session to review the results of past year’s work.

Presided over by President Emomali Rahmon, an enlarged session of the government to review the results of past year’s work and discuss plans for this year is being held in Dushanbe today.

“A special attention will be given to issues related to the implementation of the National Development Strategy for the Period to 2030 (NDS-2030),” an official source within the Tajik government told Asia-Plus in an interview.

Usually, the head of state introduces a number of staff changes in the leaderships of ministries and local governments.

Recall, President Rahmon on January 21 last year expelled the head of Amonatbonk (Tajikistan’s savings bank) and director-general of Tajik Air (Tajikistan’s national air carrier) from the room during the government meeting.      .

A day later Emomali Rahmon effected a series of personnel reshuffles at Tajik Air and Dilshod Ismatullozoda was appointed as a replacement director-general of Tajik Air.

Meanwhile, NDS-2030, in particular, suggests that coordination institutions and accountability of state administration bodies, business and civil society should play an important role for the implementation of these priorities. Performance of these institutions will be based on a national system of evaluation and forecasting of future development, short-term and long-term objectives and plans for implementation, accordingly.

Therefore, issues on strengthening institutional development towards efficient, transparent and anti-corruption management and financial control through the introduction of modern information technologies at all levels of government and, in general, the development of technocratic and meritocratic management models in the country have been highlighted in NDS-2030.
