Two republican contests will be held in Tajikistan this year in honor of celebration of the 30th anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence that will be marked on September 9, 2021.  The Presidential Reserve Fund has allocated nearly 4 million somoni for holding the contests.

President Emomali Rahmon has signed an order on holding two republican contests – “Furughi Subhi Donoi Kitob Ast” (Knowledge Is a Shine of Dawn) and “Tojikiston Vatani Azizi Man” (Tajikistan Is My Beloved Land) – this year, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

The “Tojikiston Vatani Azizi Man” is carried out for representatives of art and music. The contest will reveal winners in various nominations of vocal art: academic vocal performance; variety performance; and folk singing.

Rappers are not allowed to participate in the contest and phonograms are prohibited, the president’s official website says.

Winners of nominations will receive 50,000 somoni in prize money and the grand prix amount will be 70,000 somoni.

The main objective of the “Furughi Subhi Donoi Kitob Ast” contest is in attracting public interest in reading books.

The contest is carried out in the following nominations: connoisseur of Tajik classical literature (first place prize amounts to 30,000 somoni); connoisseur of Tajik modern literature (first place prize amounts to 25,000 somoni); connoisseur of children’s literature and folklore (first place prize amounts to 25,000 somoni); and connoisseur of world literature (first place prize amounts to 25,000 somoni)

The grand prix amount will be 60,000 somoni.

The contests will be carried out in all districts, cities and regions across the country and an award ceremony for winners will take place in Dushanbe at the end of the year.

The Presidential Reserve Fund has allocated 2.14 million somoni for holding the “Tojikiston Vatani Azizi Man” contest and 1.646.4 million somoni for holding the “Furughi Subhi Donoi Kitob Ast” contest.
