As of May 12, about 6.3 million somoni and $ 12.3 thousand were received at the charity account opened at the Main Department of the Central Treasury of the Ministry of Finance. This was reported by the secretariat of the Ministry of Finance of the country.

The collected money is sent to the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the country for expenses associated with measures to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the Ministry of Finance, financial assistance is also provided by international financial institutions. In particular, the World Bank will allocate $ 11.5 million to respond to the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic. These funds will be used to purchase test kits, protective equipment and train medical personnel.

The agency also noted an interest-free loan of $ 189.5 million approved by the International Monetary Fund on May 6, which will be used to finance the balance of payments and budgetary needs associated with the coronavirus pandemic.
