Sixteen Polish health workers arrived in Dushanbe by a special charter flight yesterday night to assist their Tajik colleagues in combating the new coronavirus (COVID-19).

First Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population, Ms. Said Umarzoda, met Polish specialists at the Dushanbe airport.

The press center of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population (MoHSPP) says the Polish specialists are accompanied by three experts of the World Health Organization (WHO).    

The Polish health workers are expected to visit Tajikistan’s regions to share their experiment in combating COVID-19 with their Tajik colleagues.   

The polish health workers will stay in Tajikistan for a month, according to the MoHSPP press center.  

Recall, the second mission of WHO will be sent to Tajikistan in the near future.  Its members will include representative of Rospotrebnadzor (Russia’s Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing).  The experts will assist Tajik specialists help in carrying out lab diagnostics, epidemiological supervision and conducting research of the new coronavirus.
