President Emomali Rahmon, who is also Head of the Government of Tajikistan, has introduced a number of staff changes, shaking up police officials.

By government’s decree Major-General Mahmadsaid Saidzoda was relieved of his post of Deputy Interior Minister in connection with transfer to other job.

He was appointed to head the Police Directorate for the Rasht group of districts (eastern Tajikistan), according to the Tajik president’s official website..       

By another government’s decree Major-General Barotali Partov, who had previously served as Head of the Interior Ministry Special Subdivision, replaced him as Deputy Interior Minister. 

Mahmadsaid Saidzoda had reportedly served as Deputy Interior Minister since late March 2017.  Prior to this, he had headed the Interior Ministry Traffic Police Directorate.
