Tajik Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population Jamoliddin Abdullozoda is currently in Turkey to inspect procurement and acceptance of mobile medical units (MMUs), according to the press center of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population (MoHSPP).

These units are reportedly procured within framework of the program sponsored by the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB).

The mobile medical unit is an 18-meter-long clinic on wheels.  The mobile medical units enable health workers to meet the needs of residents of remote mountain villages who may not have access to medical offices or clinics, the MoHSPP press center said.

An agreement that was signed between the Government of Tajikistan and the Islamic Development Bank was ratified by Tajikistan’s lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament in 2014.
