Four resident of Bokhtar, the capital of the southern Khatlon province have been detained on suspicion of unlawful deprivation of a resident of Khatlon’s Kushoniyon district of liberty, according to the Interior Ministry’s website.  

The organizer of this crime reportedly decided to prove in this way the fact of his brother’s wife’s adultery,

On March 21, the suspects stopped the woman's alleged lover's car and forced him into another car and took him to Bokhtar.

They held illegally the man in one of apartments in Bokhtar for several hours.  They tied him up and beat him, the website says.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the suspects under the provisions of Article 131 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – illegal deprivation of liberty; an investigation is under way.
