Upon personal instruction of President Emomali Rahmon, Sughd Governor Rajabboy Ahmadzoda today morning held a meeting with regional administrators of Isfara, according to the Sughd regional administration press center.

The meeting was held in Isfara City, and its participants discussed the consequences of the incident and agreed to end the armed conflict.

The governor, in particular, noted that on the initiative of the governments of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, a joint commission for the settlement of the armed conflict had been set up.

Besides, it was noted a working group consisting of representatives of law enforcement agencies and local authorities has been currently working to create favorable conditions and organize fruitful negotiations.

It was also noted that the consequences of yesterday's clashes will be completely eliminated and power transmission lines and bridges will be repaired.

“We conducted negotiations with the administration of Batken region on reopening the road and this problem will be resolved,” Ahmadzoda said.

At the same time, the governor called on residents of Isfara not to succumb to provocations and not to lose political vigilance.

Recall, Tajik top security officer Saymumim Yatimov and Kyrgyz government plenipotentiary for Batken region yesterday evening signed a joint statement to end the conflict.
