About hundred Tajik servicemen will participate in the International Army Games that will be held this year in the Russian Federation, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan from August 22 to September 4, Colonel Faridoun Mahmadalizoda, a spokesman for the Ministry of Defense (MoD), told Asia-Plus in an interview.

According to him, Tajik servicemen will participate in five competitions: tank biathlon that will be held at the Alyabino training ground in Russia; sniper competition that will be held in Belarus; masters of artillery fire (artillery calculation competition) that will take place in Kazakhstan; military medics competition that will take place in Uzbekistan; and field canteen competition that will also be held in Uzbekistan.

The International Army Games is an annual Russian military sports event organized by the Ministry of Defense of Russia (MoD). The event, which was first staged in August 2015, involves close to 30 countries taking part in dozens of competitions over two weeks to prove which is the most skilled.

The games have been referred to as the War Olympics.  In addition to the competition, the International Army Games includes a military theme park, a recruitment station, and souvenir shops.
