The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Sergey Katyrin arrived in Khujand.

The purpose of the visit is to strengthen bilateral relations, discuss existing opportunities for expanding ties between regions, exchange views and experience of business circles of both sides, the press service of the head of Sughd reports.

During the meeting, Rajabboy Ahmadzoda and Sergey Katyrin exchanged views on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation between Tajik and Russian business circles.

It was noted that in recent years, regional ties between Tajikistan and Russia have strengthened even more, and the Sughd region has memorandums and agreements on cooperation with 8 regions of the Russian Federation, including Orenburg, Saratov, Astrakhan, Ivanovo, Sverdlovsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Altai and the Republic of Dagestan.

During the presentation of the potential of the Sughd region, it was noted that the gross regional product in 2020 amounted to 21.6 billion somoni, an increase of 44 times compared to 2000 and 3.8 times compared to 2010.
