And he admitted that he and Emomali Rahmon have a strong personal friendship.

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko appoints new ambassadors of Belarus to Tajikistan, Brazil and the Republic of Korea, BELTA reports.

Viktor Denisenko will represent the interests of Belarus in Tajikistan. Prior to that, he worked as Deputy Head of the Main Directorate – Head of the CIS Countries Directorate of the Main Directorate of Russia, CIS Countries and Eurasian Integration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.

As for Tajikistan, Alexander Lukashenko stressed: it is not just a friendly country, but a strong personal friendship ties the Belarusian head of state with its leader Emomali Rahmon.

We have practically no secrets from each other. This was shown by my last three-day visit. Therefore, it will be easy for you to work from this side", – said Lukashenko, addressing Viktor Denisenko.

However, as the Belarusian president noted, the great potential for the development of trade with Tajikistan has not yet been realized.

"The main thing for any ambassador is trade and economic relations. With politics, we have no problems with Tajikistan at all, as well as in other countries where you will go", – said the Belarusian leader.

Note that the reasons for the dismissal of Oleg Ivanov, now the ex-Ambassador of Belarus to the Republic of Tajikistan, have not been specified, although he took part in the summit of the CSTO countries just last week.
