Based on data from the Interior Ministry of Tajikistan, the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan says more than 20,000 crimes have been reported in the country over the first ten months of this year, which is 5.2 percent more than in the same period last year.  

About 4,400 serious crimes have been reported in Tajikistan over the reporting period, which was 7.4 percent more than in January-October last year.

44 case of rape have been reported in the country over the same ten-month period (a 63 percent increase compared to January-October last year.  27 case of rape were reported in Tajikistan in January-October last year).

The number of cases of human abduction reported in Tajikistan in January-October this year has increased by 50 percent.

The number of cases of robbery and fraud reported in the country over the same ten-month period has increased by 46 and 25 percent, respectively. 

The number of cases of deliberate infliction of grievous bodily harm has increased in Tajikistan over the reporting period by 17 percent.

The number of cases of murder and attempted murder reported in the country in January-October this year has increased by 11 percent. 

The number of economic crimes has reportedly increased by 4.1 percent in Tajikistan over the same ten-month period.
