On February 9, Prince Rahim Aga Khan met with United Nations Secretary General Mr. António Guterres at the UN’s Headquarters in New York, according to the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN).

Prince Rahim reportedly conveyed special greetings from His Highness the Aga Khan, which the Secretary General warmly reciprocated.

During the meeting, Mr. Guterres and Prince Rahim spoke about the longstanding partnership between the Aga Khan Development Network and the United Nations, and discussed ways in which to enhance collaboration between the agencies of the two institutions to improve the quality of life of marginalized communities in particular, in Asia and Africa.

Recognizing also the historical relationship between the UN and the Ismaili Imamat, the Secretary General and Prince Rahim agreed on the importance of regular consultation to strengthen collaboration and achieve mutual objectives.
