On the occasion of the Day of the Mother, Asia-Plus Media Group and water bottling plant Obi-Zulol on March 7 launched a festive action “Modaroni Dushanbe” (Mothers of Dushanbe) that has become the annual action in the Tajik capital.

A festively decorated bus has been carrying women along the Roudaki Avenue free of charge.  Besides, various gifts and surprises were waiting for them.

The bus will run along route 3 during two days — from March 7 to March 8, and any woman may get on the festive bus adorned with flowers and balloons.  Various gifts and surprises are waiting for her.

The event has been held in the Tajik capital since 2018.

The event is being held under support of the Dushanbe Administration.

The general partner of the action is Tajikistan’s largest bottled water and soft drinks producer Obi Zulol and its sweet brand RC Cola have been supporting this initiative of Asia-Plus for the fifth consecutive year, giving our mothers a holiday.

Other partners of this action are Yovar (the chain of supermarkets), Arvand Bank, Top Engineering Company and O Mobile (mobile phone operator).

Recall, International Women’s Day has been known in Tajikistan as the Day of the Mother since March 2009.

Congratulating women on March 8, 2009, President Emomali Rahmon said that International Women’s Day has only been celebrated on March 8 for about 100 years, but that ancient Aryan women — the ancestors of the Tajiks — had special days both for mothers, specifically, and for women in general.
