Head of Kulob Matloubot (consumers' cooperative society), Ms. Mehrinisso Rahimova, is accused of commercial bribery in the course of her work in this position, says the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption.

She reportedly demanded 27,000 somonis from local resident for assistance in registering a point of sale assistance for him.  

Rahimova was caught red-handed while taking money, according to the anticorruption agency press center.  

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Mehrinisso Rahimova under the provisions of Article 279 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – commercial bribery; an investigation is under way.  

If convicted, should face a fine of up to 96,000 somonis or to years in prison.

Mehrinisso Rahimova had served as the head of the Kulob consumers’ cooperative society since 2012 and was a famous person in this city.

According to Bonuvoni Tojikiston (women magazine)’s official website, Mehrinisso Rahimova was born in the Danghara district on April 21, 1970.
