Co-chaired by Tajik Prime Minister Qohir Rasoulzoda and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksey Overchuk, the 18th session of the Tajikistan-Russia intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation is being held in Dushanbe today.

Khovar news agency says the parties are discussing topical issues of economic and humanitarian cooperation between Tajikistan and the Russian Federation.

The previous 17th session of the Tajikistan-Russia commission for trade and economic cooperation took place in Moscow on February 8-9, 2021.  The participants reportedly discussed an increase in supplies of eco-friendly agricultural products from Tajikistan to Russia by optimizing customs procedures. The parties agreed to increase freight volumes and consider the possibilities of resuming flight services between the two nations as soon as possible.   The meeting ended with signing of a protocol.

Over the past nine months of this year, the bilateral trade between Tajikistan and Russia has valued at 1,221,123,300 U.S. dollars.
