Robert F Kennedy Jr, nephew of former President John F Kennedy, has announced he will challenge Joe Biden for the Democratic nomination in 2024.

Media reports say the son of assassinated Senator Robert F Kennedy formally filed paperwork to run as a Democrat in the 2024 Presidential election on Thursday.

According to RawStory, environmental lawyer and anti-vaccine activist Robert F. Kennedy Jr. filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission after announcing last month he was considering a run against Joe Biden.

CNN says Kennedy tweeted last month that he was considering a presidential run.  “If it looks like I can raise the money and mobilize enough people to win, I’ll jump in the race,” he said.

Should he go through with his presidential bid, Kennedy would be the latest in a long line of family members to enter politics.
