Over the past 11 years, in order to evacuate the population from the flooded area of the Rogun HPP, 3211 families have been provided with household plots of land, about 15,000 people have been transported and are currently living in new dwellings. This was stated by Emomali Rahmon at a meeting with the construction team of the station, reports the press service of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The President noted that the evacuation of people from the remaining villages in the flooded zone continues in accordance with the schedule of filling the hydroelectric power station reservoir. 

The report notes that in order to provide new residential areas with the necessary infrastructure schools, medical centers, water supply systems, electricity and roads were built first of all.

In connection with the implementation of the next stage of construction work, in particular, the gradual lifting of the dam to a height of up to 1185 meters above sea level and filling the reservoir of the hydroelectric power station, the resettlement plan for 2021-2025 is being implemented.
