In the administrative center of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region – Khorog, where Emomali Rahmon arrived on the evening of August 16, several facilities were opened with the participation of the president.

Residents of Khorog met the head of state yesterday with songs and dances.

Today, Emomali Rahmon participated in the opening ceremonies of a number of facilities.

He opened the hospital of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for GBAO.

According to the press service of the president, there are 36 offices in the hospital, and the necessary conditions have been created for the examination and treatment of patients.

Then the activity of the shoe manufacturing company LLC "Sandal" was launched.

Work on the construction, installation, assembly of machinery and working equipment at the facility began in 2022. The workshop was built in the center of Khorog on an area of 576 square meters.

Emomali Rahmon also opened an enterprise for the production of metal structures. At the enterprise 30 residents of Khorog were provided with work and wages from 2.5 to 3 thousand somoni, the press service reports.

In addition, with the participation of the president, a workshop for the production of furniture was opened. During the construction of the new workshop, 10 people were provided with permanent work, the average salary of employees is from 1,500 to 3,000 somoni, depending on the amount of work, the report says.

The annual capacity of the workshop is the production of more than 4 thousand pieces of furniture. Raw materials for production come from Turkey and Russia.

Then the President met with 100 orphaned children and adolescents with disabilities from the cities and districts of GBAO and presented them with gifts.

Emomali Rahmon also commissioned a 12-storey residential building on the central avenue of Khorog named after Shirinsho Shotemur. The foundation stone for the construction of a high-rise residential building was laid by the president in 2016.

The facility consists of two main 12-storey buildings, 66 two-bedroom and 22 one-bedroom apartments.

Along with the families of servicemen, 12 affected families, whose houses were completely destroyed in winter as a result of an avalanche that descended on Khorog, also became new settlers.

Also in the Khorogi Bolo microdistrict, the president opened the second school building No. 8. The first school building was opened by the president on August 21, 2020.

According to the project, the educational institution will consist of three buildings and will accommodate 640 students in two shifts.
