The youth national team of Tajikistan became the winner of the championship of the Central Asian Football Association among players under 17, which was held in Hissar, the official website of the Football Federation of Tajikistan reports.

The tournament, which took place from August 21 to 27 in Hissar, was attended by five youth teams – Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Iran, Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan.

The youth national team of Tajikistan played four matches in the CAFA-2023 championship and scored nine points. The team defeated the national teams of Afghanistan (3:1), Kyrgyzstan (4:1) and Uzbekistan (2:0), and in the last round lost to the team of Iran (0:1).

Uzbekistan also scored nine points, but due to the victory in a personal meeting, the young men of Tajikistan won gold medals.

Uzbekistan has "silver", the bronze medalist was the team of Afghanistan (6 points).

According to the results of the tournament, the "Fair Play" prize was awarded to the Tajik national team, a special prize was awarded to the Iranian team.

The best scorer of the competition was Uzbekistan national team player Nurbek Sarsenbayev, who scored three goals.

The forward of the national team of Tajikistan Muhammad Nazriev was recognized as the most useful player of the youth championship of CAFA-2023.
