The number of trolleybuses and buses on the roads of Dushanbe will increase by 20% from September 1, “Asia-Plus” was reported in the press center of the city Hall.

According to the source, this decision was made due to an increase in passenger traffic due to the beginning of the school year.

"These types of transport will be increased by 100 units. That is, 350 buses and trolleybuses are running now, and from September 1 there will be 450 of them," the mayor's office added. – As for the number of minibuses and taxis, their number will remain unchanged."

Earlier in July, at a press conference held by the Dushanbe City Hall, First Deputy Mayor of the city Saidzoda Firdavs Hamro gave a comment to journalists, assessing the situation with public transport in the capital.

According to him, there is currently no significant shortage of public transport in the city.

It was noted that during the summer months, 300 buses, 64 trolleybuses, more than 1100 minibuses and about 2000 taxis are available daily on the lines.

Then he said that with the beginning of the new school year – from September 1, the number of public transport will increase.

Meanwhile, residents of the city are already complaining that they feel a lack of public transport on certain routes.
