On 30 August 2023, Qozidavlat Qoimdodov, Resident Representative of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in Tajikistan met with Parvathy Ramaswami, UN Resident Coordinator in Tajikistan.
Sides discussed mutual cooperation between the AKDN and the UN, including implementation of joint projects.
Among the most important initiatives, both sides underscored the issues of climate change and disaster risk management since the issue of climate change is of exceptional importance for Tajikistan. This is evidenced by the increasing frequency of natural disasters that have hit the republic in recent decades.
Other topics discussed included preparing and capacity building of local communities in disaster
management.
