The Interior Ministry of Tajikistan says the 16-year-old resident of Rasht district (Rasht Valley in eastern Tajikistan) and the 29-year-old resident of Dushanbe were arrested on September 30 on suspicion of killing and robbing another Tajik national in the Russian city of Mytishchi.

The suspects reportedly attacked their roommate, the 27-year-old resident of Dousti district, Khatlon province, and killed him.  They seized his money and fled to Tajikistan, where they were detained.

The ministry does not give further details of this crime, just noting that criminal proceedings have been instituted and an investigation is under way.

The ministry also does not release the attackers’ names, may be because the Rasht resident is a minor and police are unable to release his name

The resident of Dushanbe faces 15 to 25 years in prison or life imprisonment, while the resident of Rasht district faces up to 10 years in prison because he is a minor.
