On Thursday October 19, President Emomali Rahmon began a three-day working visit to Khatlon province.

The Tajik president’s official website says the main purpose of the visit is for the president to get acquainted with a socioeconomic situation in the area. 

In Farkhor district, Emomali Rahmon reportedly attended an official opening ceremony of the Kokul frontier post on Tajikistan’s common border with Afghanistan. 

Besides, Emomali Rahmon virtually inaugurated frontier posts in Shamsiddin-Shohin district in Khatlon province, Lakhsh district (district subordinate to the center), and the districts of Rushan, Ishkashim and Murgab as well as the city of Khorog in the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO).  

While in Farkhor district, the head of state also visited the diagnostic and treatment center, construction of which was financed by local businesswoman Lutfiya Kamolova.  

Emomali Rahmon also visited horticultural farming unit “Boghi Nodir” in Farkhor district.  This horticultural farming unit is located on an area of 160 hectares

The president also inaugurated the medical center “Salomat” in Farkhor district.  The center was built by local businesswoman Aziza Umarova.
