As part of his trip to the city of Kulob, President Emomali Rahmon yesterday visited the shrine of an outstanding scientist and thinker of the East, Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadani, reciting verses from the Holy Qur'an in order to preserve the peace and tranquility of independent Tajikistan, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

He reportedly prayed for the peace of the people of the country and the progress and prosperity of the homeland.

The mausoleum and the territory of the shrine of this historical figure were completely renovated and modernized in the era of independence and now hundreds of domestic and foreign tourists visit this place every day.

Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadani (1312–1384) was a Sufi Muslim saint of the Kubrawiya order, Persian scholar and poet.  He was born in Hamadan, Iran and preached Islam in Central Asia and Kashmir as he travelled to practice Sufism.  He died in Kashmir and was buried in Khatlon, Tajikistan in 1384, aged 71–72. Hamadani was also addressed honorifically throughout his life as the Shah-e-Hamadan ("King of Hamadan"), Amir-e Kabir ("the Great Commander"), and Ali Sani ("second Ali").  

Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadoni is a well-known figure in the world of science and education, and it is his recognition of the rank of brotherhood and equality of people, charity and generosity, the role of science and the education of the population, the promotion of peace and tranquility, the culture of peace and tolerance that made him famous in the world, and today he has many followers and believers in different countries of the world.
