A government session, presided over by President Emomali Rahmon, who is also Head of the Government, took place in Dushanbe on December 27. 

The Tajik president’s official website says Finance Minister Fayziddin Qahhorzoda reported on the Medium-Term Strategy for Managing the State Debt of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2024-2026.

The minister reportedly emphasized that the main goal of the Strategy for Managing the State Debt of the Republic of Tajikistan is to ensure the Government’s financing needs by attracting loan funds with the lowest costs in the medium and long term perspective with a reasonable degree of risk, organization and maintenance of a functional securities market.

Besides, reports on the State Program for the Development of Theater Arts in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2024-2028 and on the Work Plan of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan for the first half of 2024 were heard at the meeting.  

Then, the government members discussed the issues related to the submission of the conclusion of the Government to the RT draft law “On Amendments to the RT Law “On Education” and the conclusion of the Government to the RT draft law "On Amendments to RT Law “On Educational Literature”.

They reportedly also discussed the National Strategy for Development of Production and Processing of Cotton and the Textile Industry in Tajikistan designed for 2024-2040, the Medium-term Government Revenue Program designed for 2024-2029 and the issues of planning foreign investment in the country’s economy.
