Presided over by President Emomali Rahmon, a meeting of the Government of Tajikistan took place yesterday.

The Tajik president’s official website says that at the beginning of the meeting, personnel issues were discussed and the heads of six institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan were replaced by government’s regulations.

The Head of the Main Geology Directorate under the Government of Tajikistan Ilhomjon Oimuhammadzoda reported on the results of the Directorate’s activities in 2018-2023.

He, in particular, noted that the Main Geology Directorate conducts its activities based on the National Geology Development Program designed for 2021-2030 and based on this program, it continues the geological study of mineral resources through 56 projects in the facilities of regional works.

In addition to this, the Main Geology Directorate also carried out contractual works in line with 1200 projects in the amount of 118.2 million somonis during the period of 2018-2023.

The meeting participants then discussed a number of draft laws that were submitted for consideration to the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament).  Among them are draft laws on amendments proposed to the country’s laws on political parties, education, licensing system, and pastures.

They reportedly also reviewed the issues related to the National Family Development Program designed for 2024-2028, the Program for the Introduction of Information and Communication Technologies to General Education Institutions designed for 2024-2028, and the Program for Improving the Reclamation Status of Irrigated Agricultural Lands designed for 2024-2028.

At the end of the meeting, President Emomali Rahmon gave specific instructions to the Government, local executive bodies and relevant agencies and institutions to accomplish works pertaining to the winter season at the necessary level, prepare for spring planting, effective use of land, environmental cleanliness, greening of areas and revitalizing the creative measures for the decent celebration of the International Navrouz holidays and the 35th anniversary of the state independence of Tajikistan, the Tajik president’s official website added.
