The Tajik president’s official website says that by president’s direction Amirjon Ubaidullo was relieved of his post of Senior Adviser at the Office of President’s Adie for Economic Issues in connection with transfer to another job.

However, details of the new appointment have not been provided.

Amirjon Ubaidullo had served as Senior Adviser at the Office of President’s Adie for Economic Issues since 2019.  Prior to this, he had served as Deputy Head of the Finance Directorate at President’s Executive Office, Tajikistan’s Representative to the World Bank (WB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).  He had also worked at the Ministry of Finance of Tajikistan.

Amirjon Ubaidullo is the son former Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev.  Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev served as Mayor of Dushanbe from 1997 to 2017 and Speaker of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament) from 2000 to 2020).

President Emomali Rahmon today also signed a decree  on appointment of Umed Bobozoda Human Rights Ombudsman of Tajikistan for another term.

Mr. Bobozoda has served as Human Rights Ombudsman of Tajikistan since 2019, replacing Zarif Alizoda, who had served as Human Rights Ombudsman of Tajikistan ten years (two terms).
