Famous Tajik coach Mukhammadjon Khabibulloev resigned as coach of the Istaravshan team in December 2021. Before that, the coach had already left the club, but the fans convinced him to stay. Then he was going to finish his coaching career in Tajik football.

But later he left the Tajik club anyway and after that found a job in Russia. He was in Samara and worked as a coach at a local school, and also led the Phoenix youth team.

"If there is a decent offer from the club, then I will gladly accept it. Up to this point, there were invitations to different teams, but they did not suit me," the coach said earlier.

And so, a few years later, Mukhammadjon Khabibulloev returned to Tajikistan. He became the mentor of the Sardor First League team

"Khabibulloev, under whose leadership RegarTadAZ became the champion of Tajikistan six times and won the AFC President's Cup three times, became the head coach of Sardor from Tursunzade. The agreement was signed before the end of the 2024 season, and if the goals are achieved, the contract will be extended," the team said in a statement on its social network.

He is considered one of the most successful coaches in the country: RegarTadAZ won the national championship with him six times in 2001, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2008. He won the Tajik Cup five times: with Ravshan in 1994 and with RegarTadAZ in 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006.

In 1991, he played 7 games for Khosilot in the USSR Second League. In the Tajik championship, he played for Ravshan from Kulyab. Since the early 2000s he has been a coach, permanent mentor of FC RegarTadAZ from 2001 to 2013.

In 2007, he was appointed head coach of the Tajik national team. In 2006 and 2008, he was recognized as the best coach of Tajikistan. In August 2014, he headed DaleronUroteppa and led the team to bronze medals.

Before the start of the 2015 season, he became the head coach of Ravshan, but left the team in July of the same year. In the summer of 2015, Khabibulloev took over Khosilot and led it to victory in the first league.

In the summer of 2016, he became the head coach of Hosilot again, the team became the silver medalist of the national championship. In 2020, he worked in the Kuktosh team, and in 2021, he became the head coach of FC Istaravshan.
