Young Tajik judoists took part in the Asian Cadet & Junior Championships 2024. The Asian Championship in Mungyeong (South Korea) was held among cadets and juniors in various weight categories. In total, about 300 athletes from 20 countries competed in the championship.

One representative of the junior national team of Tajikistan was able to win a gold medal.

“Our talented young athlete in the 73 kg weight category Mukhiddin Asadulloev won the gold medal! This victory is the result of hard work, fortitude and a great will to win! Congratulations to all judo fans on this amazing achievement,” – said Ergash Makhmadbekov, Vice Chairman of the Judo Federation of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The Tajik national team includes Alexandra Kan (57 kg), Firuz Mahmadbekov (66 kg), Ilkhomiddin Jabborov, Mukhiddin Asadulloev (73 kg), Sunnatullo Musoev, Muhammad Yusufzoda (81 kg), Ahmad Tabarov (+100 kg).

No one else managed to win awards, but Ilkhomiddin Jabborov (73 kg) and Sunnatullo Musoev (81 kg) became fifth, and Ahmad Tabarov (+100 kg) took seventh place.

The Tajik national team took the 4th position in the medal standings. The Uzbeks were the first (7-3-3), the Koreans were the second (4-2-6), the Kyrgyzstanis were the third (2-0-4).

This championship is one of the stages of preparation of the Tajik national team for the Asian Cup in Dushanbe – Dushanbe Cadet & Junior Asian Cup 2024. It will take place on September 12-15.

And on October 2-6, Dushanbe will host the World Junior Championships – Dushanbe World Championships Juniors Individuals 2024.

The World Junior Judo Championship is an international competition of the highest level in judo among athletes aged 21 and under. The championships are held once a year (except for the years of the Olympic Games) By the International Judo Federation.

The World Junior Championship is the only junior event where ranking points for the world ranking are awarded.
