The high-level meetings and negotiations in Kuwait culminated in signing several agreements and memoranda of understanding in the presence of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled.  The two sides signed agreements to boost cooperation in labor exchange in the private sector, diplomatic training, trade, industry, state communications, tourism, standardization and sports.  

The Tajik president’s official website says a total of nine new cooperation documents were signed to strengthen and expand cooperative relations between the two countries, including five documents in the presence of the heads of state and four others on the sidelines of the official visit of President Emomali Rahmon to the State of Kuwait:

 

  • Memorandum of understanding between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the State of Kuwait on the regulation of the workforce in the private sector;
  • Memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait;
  • Memorandum of understanding between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the State of Kuwait on commercial cooperation;
  • Memorandum of understanding between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the State of Kuwait on cooperation in the field of industry;
  • Protocol on introducing changes and additions to the "Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the State of Kuwait on avoiding double taxation and preventing tax evasion on income and capital";
  • Agreement on cooperation between the National News Agency of Tajikistan Khovar and the News Agency of the State of Kuwait Kuna;
  • Memorandum of understanding between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the State of Kuwait in the field of physical education and sports;
  • Memorandum of understanding between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the State of Kuwait on cooperation in the field of standardization;
  • Executive Program of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the State of Kuwait on cooperation in the field of tourism for 2024-2026.

 

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on the regulation of the workforce in the private sector was called beneficial for the parties.
