“We express our sincere condolences on the passing of His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan IV.

Through his dedicated efforts to uphold peace and stability, promote progress and development in the Islamic world, and advance common development goals, the late Prince earned great recognition and respect on the international stage.  In this regard, I would like to highlight his contribution to fostering constructive cooperation with the Republic of Tajikistan.

With fond memories and deep respect for the late Prince, on behalf of myself and the people of Tajikistan, I extend our heartfelt condolences and sorrow to his family and loved ones, praying to the Almighty to grant them strength and patience.”

His Highness Prince Karim Al Hussaini, Aga Khan IV, 49th hereditary Imam of Shia Ismaili Muslims and direct descendant of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), passed away peacefully in Lisbon on February 4, 2025, aged 88, surrounded by his family.

He is survived by three sons and a daughter.

Prince Karim Aga Khan was the founder and chairman of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN).
