President Emomali Rahmon signed a decree on measures to strengthen social protection and increase salaries for public sector employees, pensions, and scholarships on February 8, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

According to the presidential press service, the following changes will take effect on September 1, 2025:

  • The minimum wage in the country will be set at 1,000 somonis per month.
  • Salaries of education sector employees will increase by 30%, while salaries of workers in social, cultural, and medical institutions will rise by 20%.
  • The base salary for healthcare workers will be set at 744 somoni.
  • Student scholarships, including presidential scholarships, will increase by 20%.
  • Salaries for military personnel and law enforcement officers will also rise by 20%.
  • Insurance, labor, and social benefits, as well as pension base amounts, will be indexed by 10%.

 

The government and local authorities are required to implement this decree in 2025 using funds from the state budget.
