The Second Western District Military Court in Moscow sentenced a 30-year-old Kyrgyzstani citizen Bekazat Abdinasir Uulu to three years in prison, finding him guilty of justifying terrorism (Article 205.2 (2) of Russia’s Penal Code), TASS reports, citing its correspondent from the courtroom.

"Bekazat Abdinasir Uulu (listed in Russia as an extremist and terrorist) working as an installer of low-voltage systems at LLC 'Atrium' in Moscow, is found guilty of committing the crime Article 205.2 (2) of Russia’s Penal Code — public calls for terrorist activity using the internet.  He is sentenced to three years in a low-security penal colony,” the verdict says.

According to the investigation, in April 2024, the accused published a comment under a video showing the first interrogations of those accused of carrying out the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall concert venue.

“Displaying indifference to the victims of the attack, he cynically posted a comment: 'Great guys, such a movement requires a huge spirit, too bad they got caught,” the indictment reads.

The video was posted on the Telegram channel “Migrants.ru.”

The court also imposed a two-year ban on him from administering websites and confiscated the mobile phone from which the crime was committed.  The court also ordered the destruction of the SIM card seized from him during his arrest.

The man was arrested in November 2024 and has been held in pretrial detention since then.

TASS reports that the defendant “fully admitted his guilt, assisted in revealing the crime he committed, and expressed remorse, which was taken into account as a mitigating factor.”

The penalty for the offense he was convicted of provides for up to seven years in prison. The defendant has not yet decided whether to appeal the conviction.

A group of terrorists stormed the Crocus City Hall concert venue in the Moscow oblast on March 22, 2024.  They opened fire on the visitors and set a fire.  According to official data, at least 146 people were killed and 695 injured as a result of the attack.  The perpetrators of the attack attempted to flee in a vehicle but were arrested in the Bryansk region.  A total of 12 people have been arrested in connection with the terrorist attack, including four perpetrators who are citizens of Tajikistan.
