On Tuesday March 18, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian congratulated Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon on the upcoming Nowruz holiday.

In a congratulatory message posted on the Telegram page of the Iranian Embassy in Dushanbe, Pezeshkian wished Emomali Rahmon and the people of Tajikistan health, happiness, and success in the new year.

Pezeshkian highlighted that spring is a time of renewal and hope for a better future. He expressed optimism about further strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.  He also wished for the successful development of bilateral relations between Iran and Tajikistan in fields such as the economy, culture, and science.

Meanwhile, a ceremony to mark Navrouz was held on March 17, 2025, at Persepolis, a UNESCO World Heritage site located in southern Iran, with ambassadors from Tajikistan, KAzakhstan and Uzbekistan to celebrate the ancient Persian New Year.

It is worth recalling that the Iranian president visited Dushanbe on an official trip in January of this year.  As a result of the visit, 23 bilateral cooperation agreements were signed.

At that time, Tajikistan’s president stated that the visit marked “the beginning of a new stage in the development and expansion of multifaceted relations” with Iran.

It was noted that currently, 160 companies with Iranian capital operate in Tajikistan, and in 2024, the volume of goods transported between the two countries increased 3.2 times compared to previous years.

Additionally, following a business forum between the two nations held in January in Dushanbe, 13 cooperation agreements were signed, amounting to over $450 million, highlighting the vast opportunities for further collaboration between entrepreneurs and investors from both countries.
