On March 14, representatives of the Tajikistan Embassy in Moscow visited the Center for Temporary Detention of Foreign Nationals (CTDFN) in Yegoryevsk, where Tajik migrants are among those being held.

According to the Tajik diplomatic mission, embassy staff discussed with the center’s administration the timely return of Tajik citizens to their homeland.  They reportedly also addressed the issue of ensuring proper living conditions for Tajik nationals in the facility.

An official source within the Embassy says there are currently 29 Tajik citizens being held in the detention center in Yegoryevsk.

Tajik authorities have reached an agreement with the administration to facilitate the return of four migrants to Tajikistan.   The remaining 25 individuals are expected to be repatriated in the near future.

During the visit, a meeting was held with Tajik citizens to discuss changes made to Russia’s migration laws.

Migrants reportedly received legal consultations, recommendations on avoiding involvement in extremist and radical groups, and advice on preventing repeat offenses.

At the end of the meeting, Tajik citizens were provided with food and essential supplies.

A few days earlier, Tajikistan’s Ambassador to Russia, Davlatshoh Gulmahmadzoda, met with Tajik citizens at Moscow’s Domodedovo and Sheremetyevo airports.  The discussions focused on protecting the rights of Tajik nationals in Russia and their return to Tajikistan.

The ambassador emphasized the importance of complying with Russian laws, combating extremism and youth radicalization, and using social media to promote civic responsibility.

Gulmahmadzoda also held negotiations with airport and border service officials, raising concerns about providing food to Tajik citizens during flight delays.
