An official opening of the third intake for the "Chinese Language + Electrolytic Lead" course took place at the metallurgical plant of the Tajik-Chinese Mining Company LLC on April 18.  The training course is aimed at local employees who are studying in a targeted direction within the Chinese Language Workshop project, says press release issued by the Tajik-Chinese Mining Company.

Xu Dongyun, Assistant to the Director-General of the Tajik-Chinese Mining Company, delivered a speech at the event.

“We are consistently implementing the program ‘Chinese Language + Professional Skills’ to train highly qualified personnel who possess both an international perspective and specialized technical knowledge,” he said.

The Tajik side also expressed support for the project.

“The Tajik-Chinese Mining Company is our key partner.  About 50% of the graduates of the faculty are employed by this company.  We encourage students to use the Chinese language as a tool for mastering advanced Chinese technologies in metallurgy,” noted the Dean’s Office of the Metallurgical Faculty of the Tajik Metallurgical Institute.

Chinese language instructor Bie Wei emphasized that the main goal of the project is to provide quality education for future development.

“We will make every effort to ensure quality training and professional support for each participant in the program,” he assured.

The educational project "Chinese Language Workshop" was created in 2023 through the joint efforts of the Language Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Education of China, the Tajik-Chinese Mining Company, and Lanzhou University of Natural Resources and Environmental Technology.

Achievements reached during this period include:

  • Two successful training sessions under the "Chinese Language + Electrolytic Lead Production" program;
  • Joint Chinese language courses organized with local vocational educational institutions;
  • Over 160 local students trained.

In the future, the company plans to continue developing the project, improving educational programs, and expanding the "Chinese Language + Professional Competencies" format.

This initiative aims to train national personnel who are capable not only of mastering modern technologies but also of contributing to the strengthening of Tajik-Chinese relations and jointly utilizing opportunities for development.

The Tajik-Chinese Mining Company is located in the settlement of Zarnisor, which is administratively subordinate to the city of Guliston (formerly Qairoqqum), Sughd province.  The enterprise was granted licenses for development of the lead and zinc deposits Altyn-Topkan and Pay-Buloq.
