Kazakhstan is taking another step toward fostering international business. At the initiative of Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry new regulations have been approved for obtaining an investor visa, aimed at enhancing the country’s investment appeal and supporting long-term business partnerships.

The Kazakh MFA notes that under new regulations, foreign nationals who invest at least US$300,000 in the charter capital of Kazakh companies or in local equity securities will be able to submit an electronic application for an investor visa.

This so-called "golden visa" provides the opportunity to later obtain a residence permit in Kazakhstan for up to 10 years.

Such visa programs, widely used internationally (including in Europe, the USA, the UAE, and Singapore), have proven to be an effective tool for attracting capital, technology, and business activity. Kazakhstan is joining this approach by offering its own model of investment residency.

The issuance of “golden visas” creates a favorable and predictable environment for foreign investors, providing legal guarantees and strengthening confidence in Kazakhstan's investment climate.

This innovation reflects the country's strategic focus on openness, capital protection, and the development of sustainable international economic ties.

An investor visa is a type of immigration permit granted by a country to foreign investors who make substantial financial investments in that country’s economy.  It is a pathway to residency and potentially citizenship for the investor, their partner, and their dependent family members.  This type of visa is often used as a means to attract foreign capital and business to the country.
