As part of the celebrations for National Running Day and Youth Day, the city of Dushanbe will hold its annual running race and bike marathon on Sunday May 18, welcoming participants of all ages and skill levels.

The event is organized by the Committee on Youth Affairs and Sports under the Government of Tajikistan.  The marathon will kick off at 7:30 AM, with participants gathering at 7:00 AM near the Chorbogh Terminal on the Varzob route. The race route will cover Karamov Street and Hofiz Sherozi Avenue, concluding at the Navruzghoh complex in the city center.

This year marks the 18th iteration of the marathon, which has historically drawn a diverse crowd including amateur athletes, embassy staff, representatives of international organizations, government employees, and citizens from all walks of life.

Prizes will be awarded by the Tajikistan Cycling Federation in three categories: professional athletes, amateurs, and women.

The event aligns with a presidential decree establishing National Running Day, observed annually on the third Sunday of May, aimed at promoting sports and a healthy lifestyle across Tajikistan.
