Emomali Rahmon shakes up officials

The President Emomali Rahmon, who is also the Head of the Government, introduced a number of staff changes yesterday, according to the Tajik president’s official website.  

By president’s decree Said Zuhurzoda, who had previously served as Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Investment and State-owned Property Management was appointed Director of the Agency for State Procurement of Goods, Works, and Services under the Government of Tajikistan, replacing Zainullo Sharifzoda, who was relieved of the post in early May and appointed Director-General of the Dushanbe International Airport.

Jumakhon Roziqzoda was appointed Director of Kokhi Borbad State Complex, which belongs to President’s Executive Office.  He replaced Abdumansour Sattorov, who was dismissed due to retirement.

By another president’s decree, Mirzotohir Nabizoda was appointed Rector of Khujand State University named after Academician Bobojon Ghafourov, replacing Ayub Usmonzoda, who was arrested over two months ago on suspicion of corruption.

Sheroz Muminzoda was appointed Rector of the Tajik State University of Law, Business and Politics in Khujand, replacing Homid Hoshimzoda.

Mounir Safarzoda was appointed Rector of the Kulob State University named after Abu Abdullo Roudaki, replacing Dilshod Rahmon, who was previously dismissed due to a transfer to a new position, the nature of which has not yet been disclosed.

Nazarali Saidzoda was appointed Director of the state-owned republican enterprise Tilloi Tojik, replacing Muhammadzarif Sharifzoda, who was appointed Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Investment and State-owned Property Management.

Other newly appointed officials include:

  • Bahromjon Ahmadzoda – Deputy Minister of Agriculture;
  • Boboyor Boboyorzoda – Deputy Minister of Transport;
  • Bobojon Khomidzoda – Deputy Director of the Agency for Special Property Supply.
