At the 28th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), Tajikistan has presented a major initiative — the Tajik-Russian Industrial Park project — marking a significant step toward deepening economic and industrial cooperation with Russia.

The Tajik Embassy in Moscow says the Tajik delegation, led by Sulton Rahimzoda, Chairman of the State Committee on Investment and State-owned Property Management (GosKomInvest), participated in the forum held from June 18 to 21.

SPIEF is one of the world’s premier platforms for discussing global and regional economic challenges and development strategies.

Rahimzoda spoke at several events, including a special panel titled Presentation of Joint International Projects: A Foundation for the Development of Domestic Industry and Trade”, where the joint industrial park was officially introduced.

“We are currently finalizing an investment agreement that lays out the fundamental conditions and commitments for mutual cooperation on this project.  I am confident that we will reach a full agreement and sign it in the near future,” Rahimzoda said during the forum.

The project is expected to operate under Russian management and aims to facilitate the export of goods to Tajikistan and neighboring markets.  Companies from Russia and other countries will be eligible to become residents of the industrial park.
